Cellulite Reduction with QWO and Physiq

If cellulite has been bothering you, you’re not alone. Our desire to get rid of — or at least minimize the look of — cellulite has led to many fantastic treatment options.  Cellulite is a combination of three things working together: fat cells, loose skin, and thick fibrous bands.

Over 90% of women will get cellulite somewhere on their body over the course of a lifetime. We offer a range of non-invasive procedures to help you minimize that orange peel, dimpled look without affecting your day-to-day life.

What Is Cellulite Reduction?

Although the exact cause of cellulite is unknown it is a common build-up of fat cells which gather up and tether under the skin. Cellulite usually happens around the bum and thigh area, but we can treat it using cellulite reduction techniques.

Through a combination of cellulite reduction treatments, the fat cells responsible for the appearance of cellulite are removed and the tethered skin attached to these fat cells will become smoothed out, with circulation and lymph drainage to the area improved. This procedure will drastically minimize the look of cellulite.

Can cellulite be treated?

A variety of treatments are available to improve the appearance of cellulite, at least temporarily. Each treatment has its own set of potential results and side effects. Some studies indicate that a combination of treatments may yield the best results.

Topical treatments can help to reduce the look of cellulite, but the results won’t last for very long. Cellulite reducing creams will tighten the skin and add moisture, for smoother and firmer skin. These topical creams will not remove the cellulite, the fat cells will still exist under the skin, but it will temporarily make the area look better.

With cryolipolysis (better known as CoolSculpting), the fat below the skin is reduced with a device that uses vacuum suction to raise tissue into contact with cooling plates. There is also acoustic wave therapy, where a technician applies gel to the affected skin and runs a hand-held device over the area. This will send sound waves into your body and break up the cellulite.

Some doctors will offer a procedure with needles, blades, or other special tools to separate the fibrous bands under the skin (known as subcision) to smooth the skin. Alternatively, they may graft the fat to improve skin appearance. The results of these techniques may last two to three years, depending on your lifestyle.

We offer both QWO and Physiq to reduce cellulite reduction. This is a fantastic non-invasive way to reduce cellulite, with minimal downtime, so you can enjoy smoother, younger-looking skin and get back to your day-to-day life in just a few days.

How We Perform Cellulite Reduction at Pura Vida Medspa & Cosmetic Laser Center

We perform the most comfortable and the least invasive cellulite reduction treatments. Our highly trained medical team will consult with you before the cellulite reduction procedure, reviewing your goals and creating a detailed, bespoke treatment plan. By using QWO and Physiq, we offer quick results, in a comfortable setting with the least invasive solutions on the market.

QWO

QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable for the treatment of cellulite. QWO is an injectable enzyme or working protein that breaks down the fibrous bands that contribute to cellulite.

This treatment is so innovative on the market because the injectable solution targets the fundamental aspect of cellulite that causes the dimpling, which is the fibrous septae that lie beneath the skin. Fibrous septae is what causes that downward pull on the skin, creating the classic dimpling that you may be looking to remove.

Physiq

Physiq is an SDM (superluminescent diode matrix) and EMS (electromagnetic stimulation) device that contours and tones the body. This means your muscle and fat are being treated at the same time! Physiq has a large handpiece, which makes it better at targeting more areas. This is a cost-efficient and non-invasive way of minimizing the look of fat and cellulite by targeting stubborn areas.

Phyiq allows body areas of a body to be treated at the same time in great comfort. This cellulite reduction treatments usually consist of 5 sessions that are spaced one week apart and patients can see results almost immediately.

Ideal Candidates for Cellulite Reduction

In order for a person to be a good candidate for cellulite reduction, you need to meet certain qualifications. You must enjoy overall good health to have this treatment performed. You should also have realistic expectations for what this cellulite treatment can do for you.

Women with moderate to severe cellulite dimpling in the buttock area, but with no skin laxity, are the ideal candidates for cellulite reducing treatments. This means that the ideal patient is usually a younger woman, in good general health, and not prone to major changes in weight.

Physiq is an ideal treatment for people with a normal and healthy body fat percentage that have localized, stubborn areas of cellulite resistant to diet and exercise. Unlike QWO Physiq can be used to treat cellulite on the abdomen, arms, buttocks, legs, hips and back.

When you meet with our team, you will be able to determine the right treatment for you. Don’t plan to have a cellulite reduction treatment and hit the beach in the same week. This is why we recommend having the cellulite reducing treatment in the winter months.

Before & Afters

The enzymes in cellulite reduction treatment quickly break down the collagen in the fibrous bands, causing them to break and release their hold on the skin. This will help the area look smoother and more taunt in just a few weeks after the procedure.

Before you leave the office, after your QWO cellulite reduction treatment, you will need to schedule your second treatment in 3 weeks and your third treatment in 6 weeks after having the first QWO cellulite treatment. The three treatment sessions should be administered 21 days apart to fully correct the dimples on the buttocks area. The final, and most noticeable, results may take up to 10 weeks after the full treatment to be fully realized.

Remember, Qwo and Physique may not totally eliminate all signs of cellulite, it has been proven to dramatically minimize the look of cellulite and give the skin a healthier and smoother look.

What to Expect During Your Cellulite Reduction Treatment

You should feel warmth but not discomfort during the Physiq cellulite reduction treatment. Physiq’s energy delivery and advanced patient control features ensure optimal comfort. We will prepare the area and apply the applicators with a gel pad and comfortable elastic band to hold them in place.

You will then be left to relax in the treatment room for 15-30 minutes depending on the areas treated. The sapphire crystal plate on the Physiq machine will cool when it comes in contact with your skin, ensuring comfort and protecting the skin. The EMS will target muscles to flex and tone the desired areas.

If you choose the Qwo procedure, you will be placed on your stomach and the marked cellulite dimples will be cleansed. This procedure will generally take less than 20 minutes to complete. The injections are relatively painless as they are done with a very fine needle.

Recovery and aftercare

After the QWO treatment, you experience bruising and swelling after the procedure. Some patients describe having an itching sensation as well as feeling sore after sitting for long periods of time. You may feel some soreness and you should avoid sitting around for so long, but you will be able to go back to full activity after 2-3 days.

If you feel nodules in the area treated, it should resolve itself within 7 to 10 days. Bruising is also common with injectable cellulite reduction treatments. Bruising is caused when the small blood vessels in the area leak, this means the injections are breaking down the collagen around fibrous septae. This will always be worse after the first treatment sessions; this side effect will be less severe and will last for less time after subsequent visits.

There is no recovery period when it comes to Phyiq! You may continue with your day-to-day tasks almost immediately after. You might be slightly pink for a few hours afterwards. Stay hydrated and avoid extreme temperatures for 2-3 days after each treatment.

Cost

The cost of a full series of QWO cellulite reduction procedures typically starts at approximately $2,100 to $3,100 for a full package. The total price of this treatment can vary depending on the treatment plan and number of sessions, as well as other factors like the extent of treatment necessary for optimal results, whether other procedures are also being performed in combination, and other elements.
