Xeomin Injection Specialists

What Is Xeomin?

Xeomin is generally used to treat moderate to severe glabellar lines (wrinkles between the eyebrows). Unlike Botox, Xeomin is stripped of all complexing proteins and features only the active ingredient, botulinum toxin. This is why Xeomin is sometimes known as “naked Botox”.

How Does It Work?

Xeomin works by targeting the underlying cause of these kinds of dynamic wrinkles—movement. These injections can temporarily interrupt the repeated and consistent muscle contractions that cause these wrinkles. They work by blocking the nerve’s signal to the muscle causing it to move.

When this communication between nerve and muscle is temporarily disrupted, the muscle can relax, and this gives the skin on top of it the time and opportunity to smooth. Over time, this forces the wrinkles to soften their appearance diminishes.

Can I use Xeomin instead of Botox?

For patients who are interested in an alternative to Botox, then Xeomin might be your answer.  Sometimes, patients may develop an immunity to the large Botox molecule and may find that Botox may not last as long.  If that is the case, Xeomin may be a perfect alternative.  One good thing is that the dosing units we use is exactly the same so we will be able to convert you from Botox to Xeomin in one simple step.  Xeomin is a simple procedure performed in about 10 minutes that provides a more youthful look by the temporary elimination of forehead lines and wrinkles, frown lines, and crows feet wrinkles.

What to expect during your Xeomin treatment

Your face will be cleaned, and Xeomin will be injected into muscles in your desired area using a very fine needle. You may need injections in different locations, but it will depend on the area being treated. We may also ask you to move the muscles in your face so we can find the place to insert the injections.

The whole process will usually only take about 10 minutes. You will start to see results in about 2 to 3 working days, but it will take 2 to 3 weeks for the full effect to appear. Avoid massaging or rubbing the area for the first 3 days. You should also avoid vigorous exercise, sunbathing, using a sunbed or a sauna for the first 2 days.
