Sound Bath and Sound Healing in Fulton, MD
Why Maryland Guests Choose a Sound Bath
A reset for a busy mind
Most of us spend the day switched on. Notifications, deadlines and family schedules keep the nervous system on constant alert, and even a good night of sleep does not always undo it. A sound bath gives you a rare chance to do nothing at all. You lie down, close your eyes and let sound do the work.
Unlike traditional meditation, a sound bath does not ask you to quiet your thoughts on your own. The layered tones of the bowls give your attention something gentle to rest on, so letting go becomes easier. Many guests tell us it is the first time in weeks they have felt truly still.
What Is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a form of sound therapy in which you are "bathed" in sound waves produced by instruments such as singing bowls and chimes. Sound healing is an ancient practice found in many cultures. It uses soothing tones and vibrations that entrain with your body's own vibrational frequency, promoting a relaxing, grounding effect that helps bring your body and mind back to center.
During your sound bath session, our practitioner plays Crystal Tones Alchemy singing bowls and Koshi Chimes. Alchemy bowls are made from quartz crystal blended with precious metals and minerals, which gives each bowl a rich, long lasting tone. Koshi Chimes add soft, airy layers above the bowls. Together they create a full field of sound that you feel as much as you hear. There is nothing you need to do or know beforehand. You stay fully clothed, rest on a comfortable treatment bed and simply receive.

Side Effects and Safety
Sound bath therapy is a wellness experience, not a medical treatment. It is not intended to diagnose or treat any condition and does not replace care from your physician or mental health provider.
Sound healing is gentle and non invasive. The instruments are played around you and are not placed on your body.
Common, Expected Effects
Most guests feel relaxed, lighter or a little sleepy afterward. Some feel a pleasant heaviness in the body for a short time.
Less Common Reactions to Watch For
Occasionally guests notice a release of emotion, mild lightheadedness when sitting up or a brief feeling of tiredness. These pass quickly. Get up slowly at the end of your session and give yourself a few minutes before driving.
Important Safety Screening
We review your health history before your first session. Let us know about pregnancy, hearing conditions, implanted devices or sound sensitivity, and you can ask to pause or adjust the session at any time.
What the Research Says
Research on singing bowls is still growing, but early findings are encouraging. In an observational study of singing bowl sound meditation, participants reported significantly less tension, anger, fatigue and depressed mood after a session. A recent systematic review of singing bowl interventions in adults found promising effects on stress, anxiety and mood, while noting that more research is needed.

01 How much does a sound bath cost in Fulton, MD?
The Restorative Sound Bath Experience is $150 for 50 minutes and The 25-Minute Reset is $75. The Beauty and Balance Ritual, a facial with sound therapy, is $215, and the sound therapy add-on is $35.
02 What should I wear to a sound bath?
Wear comfortable, loose clothing. You stay fully clothed for the entire session, and we provide a blanket and pillow.
03 Do I need meditation experience?
No. A sound bath is one of the easiest ways to reach a meditative state because the sound guides you. Beginners are always welcome.
04 What is the difference between a sound bath and sound healing?
Sound healing is the broader practice of using sound and vibration for relaxation and wellbeing. A sound bath is one way to experience it, where you rest and are surrounded by sound from bowls and chimes.
05 How often should I book a sound bath?
Some guests enjoy a sound bath once a month as a reset, while others book every one to two weeks during stressful periods. Your practitioner can suggest a rhythm that fits your goals.
06 Can I fall asleep during a sound bath?
Yes, and that is completely fine. Many guests drift in and out of a light sleep and still leave feeling refreshed.
07 Can I combine a sound bath with other Pura Vida services?
Yes. The Beauty and Balance Ritual combines a custom facial with sound therapy, and you can add 15 minutes of sound therapy to any facial. Many guests also pair sound healing with IV therapy as part of their wellness routine.
08 Is a sound bath safe for everyone?
Sound healing is gentle and non invasive, and most adults can enjoy it. We ask guests in the first trimester of pregnancy, anyone with a seizure disorder triggered by sound, and guests with severe sound sensitivity to wait. If you have tinnitus, a hearing condition or an implanted device, talk to us first so your practitioner can adjust the volume and the distance of the instruments.
